Who We Are
ALIVE is a new church plant coming to Santa Barbara, CA in November 2025.
Three years ago, ALIVE was a small homegroup in a one-bedroom apartment on the mesa. Now, the ministry has led over 100 young adults to fully devote their lives to Jesus. Through hundreds of gatherings from Isla Vista to Montecito, to soul after soul finding hope in a hurting world, God is lighting up our city.
We invite all generations to be a part of our family, be radically transformed by God's word, and join our mission of helping Santa Barbara come ALIVE in Jesus with us!

The Foundation
At ALIVE, our faith is centered on Jesus. We know sin destroys us, but Jesus is the source of life, love, and hope.
John 10:10 says, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. [Jesus] came that they may have life and have it abundantly."
We believE:
There is hope for Santa Barbara, and his name is Jesus.
- God loves our city, and deeply longs for our community to experience life in Jesus.
- What God has done through ALIVE is just a spark that we can choose to fan into flame.
- Church isn't a place we go, but a multigenerational family on a mission.
- We are a force designed to pick each other up, pursue holiness together, and bring Jesus to the hurting with undying passion.
- So we say, "Lord, here we are, asking without doubting (James 1:6), work through us to bring Santa Barbara to Christ."
God is writing a story that's bigger than us - and we can't do it alone!

At ALIVE, Jesus is the cornerstone of our faith. Our beliefs provide the foundation by which we worship deeply, cling to Biblical truth, and foster connection.

Jason Paras
Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Jason Paras is the Founder and Lead Pastor of ALIVE.
For the past six years, Jason has dedicated his life to bringing Santa Barbara to Christ. With a foundation of ministry at Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara, Greg Laurie and Ricky Ryan’s Harvest on Maui, Community Covenant Church of Goleta, and by leading Santa Barbara Worship’s All-City Worship Nights, Jason is passionate about preaching the uncompromised, deep, and accessible gospel — and discipling communities to do the same.
Jason and his wife, Allie, have been married since 2022. In September 2024, they welcomed their first child, Holly James Paras. They enjoy going on beach walks with their Pitt-Husky, Iris, being addicted to pickleball, and loving life alongside the ALIVE family.
